Finding the result in a difficult race

In this archive post, Charles Leclerc reflected on a fourth-place finish and a race that changed character from one half to the next.

“Eventful race — everything that could have gone wrong in the first part of the race went wrong, but everything that could have gone right in the second part went right. I think that was the best result possible today.”

Charles Leclerc · Original Instagram caption

What Charles said

His assessment was straightforward: the opening part of the race did not go to plan, but the second half brought the opportunities needed to recover. He felt the final result was the best available on that day, rather than suggesting the whole race had gone smoothly.

He ended the caption by looking ahead to Singapore. That reference belongs to the original post, not the current racing calendar.

The Vitesse Privé view

What we admire here is the composure to keep working when a race starts badly, and the honesty to recognise the result for what it is. Charles has come a long way to reach this stage with Ferrari. That progress deserves appreciation, not only on the best days, but also in the races that demand patience and resolve.

We look forward to seeing his story continue. Moments like this remind us that a career is built through the difficult days as well as the memorable ones.

Airborne in Austin, then back to seventh

A Reel from Formula 1’s official Instagram page, showing Fernando Alonso’s high-speed opening-lap collision at the United States Grand Prix.

According to Formula 1’s caption, Alonso’s car went airborne on the opening lap in Austin. He kept going and recovered to finish seventh.

The Vitesse Privé view

Few drivers would shrug off a moment like that and still bring home points. It is a reminder of the experience and racecraft Fernando Alonso still brings to every Grand Prix, and of the strength built into a modern Formula 1 car.

Full credit for the footage goes to Formula 1, and for the drive to Fernando Alonso.
